like twins. Both wear typical North Carolina uniforms with dark
shoulder tabs, collar, and cuff trim. Both uniforms show the coarse

REBEL BROTHERS POSING AFTER ENLISTMENT
1/6 plate tintype in full leather case. Two obvious brothers
seated posing with one brother placing his hand on the other's
shoulder and the other brother placing his hand on his brother's knee.
Both wear identical home-spun uniforms. Inside the case is a
contemporary note "September 16th, 1861," which is either
their enlistment date or the date of the photograph. Image is in

CONFEDERATE FROM TEXAS
1/6th plate ambrotype in full case. Young blond clean shaven
Rebel wearing a Confederate uniform with a frame buckle. He holds a
cocked Colt army pistol across his chest in a pose. Some solarizion
around mat, but image quite clear and distinct. From a Texas estate,

1/6 plate ambrotype probably from North Carolina
(characteristic darker cloth with shoulder tabs) seated with a musket
with bayonet and a pistol in a holster. He also has a cap box on his
belt, very sharp and not impaired by any excessive

REBEL WITH A NAVY COLT REVOLVER
1/4 plate ambrotype in full leather case. Confederate enlisted
man stands in a 3/4 standing pose with a .36 ca Navy Colt in his
leather belt. Excellent view of the large Colt as it is not obstructed
by a holster. Ex-Turner Collection. A large impressive image, possibly

CONFEDERATE SERGEANT
DOUBLE ARMED WEARING A CLEAR US BUCKLE UPSIDE DOWN
1/6 plate tintype in full case. Seated Confederate Sergeant
possibly artillery wearing heavy gauntlet gloves. He holds a very
clear Model 1855 percussion rifle and a saber bayonet in a sheath on
his belt. His cross belt supports a cartridge box which is partially
in view along with a cap box. The inverted US oval buckle is crystal
clear in the Confederate fashion. In his breast pocket is either a
diary or small religious book. Only 7000 of these .58 caliber rifles
were made; with many being destroyed at Harper's Ferry 1861. Crystal

ARMED REBEL
1/6 plate ambrotype in full getta percha case HABANA (scarce).
Young rebel holds a musket to his left, a large bowie knife in a
sheath on his belt, and a pistol in his belt. On his fabric belt is
stitched "RDS" possibly "ARDS". There is some
emulsion separation to the right of the soldier that slightly affects
the soldier. If this was perfect, it is a $2500+ image. With a little
research his unit should be able to be found. A good buy for a triple

cavalryman wearing white gauntlet gloves. Buff colored militia style
sword belt and an ivory- handled Mexican War style officer's sword. He

REBEL ISED AS J.R. STEVENSON
1/9th plate ambrotype of a young Rebel in homespun military
coat with large two piece buttons wearing a round hat. Contemporary ID
inside the nice gutta percha case id's him as J.R. Stevenson. There
are two J.R. Stevenson's listed in the Confederate service, both for
Tennessee (James R. Stevenson 41st and 44th Tenn.) A nicely,
